worked well in a few days to stop tooth pain for a crowned molar
Overall recommended for pain of a crowned molar.Update July ’23 – I am overdue to go back to the dentist (I should have gone back in January) but after using Sensodyne twice daily for 5 months (Sept ’22 to Feb ’23) the pain eventually went away and has not come back for 5 months so far. I still am unsure what caused the pain.Update February ’23 – I finally made it to the dentist in November 2022 (the original review below is from February 2022). The tooth pain came back again in June 2022 and my experience was the same. I brushed twice a day for a week and the pain went away completely. But the pain came back for a third time in September. That time I experienced no immediate decrease in pain and only a small amount of relief after a week of using Sensodyne. I wound up brushing for 4 weeks which is the limit mentioned on the tube before a recommended dentist visit. My tooth pain was fairly constant for the next month and a half to my dentist appointment and I mainly chewed on the other side of my mouth. At my appointment I got x-rays and the dentist said there was no abscess and guessed there was no infection but maybe some lesser issue allowing the nerve to be bothered by hot, cold and chewing pressure. She asked me to keep using the Sensodyne for another 6 weeks until my next appointment. I had to cancel that appointment but I kept brushing with Sensodyne until a few weeks ago (February 2023 – about 6 months total use of Sensodyne). Now the pain is gone completely with no sensitivity to cold, hot and chewing but I still plan on going back to the dentist in the next month or two just to make sure the tooth is not infected with a dead nerve.– –(original review – February ’22)I floss 6-7 times a week but I experienced bleeding around the molar and pain which had never happened before. The gums of one crowned molar bled a little when I flossed, at both the front and rear of the tooth. Around that time my tooth was aching a little when chewing and was more sensitive to cold and heat than usual. After a few days the chewing discomfort turned to a slight pain and the sensitivity got worse. After another few days I could barely bite straight down on that tooth which is bad for a molar.I thought I should try Sensodyne at least for a temporary fix until I’d get to the dentist in a month or two. During the first few seconds of the first brushing all my teeth became less sensitive to the cold tap water. It seems like there was some numbing agent in the toothpaste. After about 3 days of brushing once at night and once in the morning, I noticed I could bite more with that crown molar though it still ached. After the 5th day I didn’t notice any aching even with chewing harder foods like pita chips.I stopped using the Sensodyne after a week and had no pain or discomfort even to today which is more than 2 weeks later. I will go to the dentist in a month or two but I was/am fearful of a root canal because the novocaine did not work well on this tooth when it was crowned. Imagine a root canal with little numbing! I can! I’m glad Sensodyne worked at least temporarily so far.

It works
Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum Whitening Toothpaste is an outstanding product for anyone struggling with sensitive teeth and gum issues. This toothpaste offers dual benefits by not only alleviating tooth sensitivity but also improving gum health. The stannous fluoride formula helps create a protective layer over sensitive areas, effectively preventing pain triggers from reaching the nerves. Additionally, it has antimicrobial properties that remove plaque bacteria, reducing swollen and bleeding gums .The whitening aspect of this toothpaste is a bonus, as it gently lifts stains for a brighter smile while still being gentle on sensitive teeth. With its low abrasion formula, it protects against tooth decay without causing further sensitivity . Regular use, as recommendedâbrushing twice daily for two minutesâensures optimal results and long-lasting protection.Overall, Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum Whitening Toothpaste delivers on its promise, making it a perfect choice for comprehensive oral care.

Works very well
The only thing I don’t like about it is that it has Flouride in it. I have not been able to find a fluoride free Sensidyne. I have been amazed at how well this works on pain for the teeth and gums.

pain free
Ever since having adult braces, my teeth became super sensitive. Especially along the gum line. This toothpaste works well, no pain, and the taste isn’t bad.
