Rotodent is good. No question about that.
My dentist recommended this. Had never heard of it. Noise level is MUCH lower than Oral B, which I always used earplugs. No earplugs needed here. The brush head is smaller than Oral B so I can get the toothbrush all the way around the wisdom teeth. It doesn’t feel strong but then again, my teeth feel very clean when done. They tout 3 different brush heads, there’s room on the base to store 2 brush heads, but it only comes with 2 brush heads, one on the toothbrush and one on the base, so it’s obvious each time I glance that they chose to exclude one. I will contact them to express my annoyance. If you’re all of a sudden getting cavities, it might be wise to change things up and get this.

Multiple purchases, each one quit working properly within weeks
I purchased my first Rotadent Rotary Toothbrush back in 1999 from my dentist. They have always been the most effective toothbrush available and a very high quality product that lasted for many years. If you do your research and understand brush stroke counts it’s easy to see why these have been so good. I’m not sure what changed in the last couple years, but the quality of these new Rotadent Rotary Toothbrushes is now terrible. Long story short, over the past 18 months, I’ve now purchased three of Rotadent’s newest version. The reason I purchased three is because these new ones work for a bit, but then quickly quit working. I was hoping that the previous purchases were just lemons and just a fluke, but apparently not. They work fine when brand new, but within just a short period after using them, as soon as the brush makes contact with your teeth, the brush hesitates, stops and starts, or completely stops turning. The motor inside the toothbrush is still running, but there is some sort of slippage occurring between the motor and the bristles. It is extremely frustrating. I’ve tried replacing brush heads, but that is not the issue. In addition, this is not an issue with using too much toothpaste or by pressing too hard. Even if you try to brush after just using mouthwash with no toothpaste the brush still hesitates or stops with the lightest touch. It’s sad to see such a great product now go down the tubes due to a new design flaw or short cuts during the production process. Hopefully Rotadent will acknowledge and fix the problem before they totally ruin their reputation and lose their loyal customer base.

    The best!
My teeth have never felt clean until I use this one. It’s really surprised me. It’s recommended from my dentist. I was skeptical at first but I’m grad I bought it. It’s quite pricy but it worths it.I still think one year guarantee is not I expected for the price. Hopefully It will run smoothly longer than one year …

    Only lasts about a year
Loved it but this only last about a year. It’s my 2nd one and it’s time to buy a new one.

    Best toothbrush on the market
My older model finally died and I had to get a new model. This new one is not quite as strong as the older one. The motor is quiet but it does not measure up to the strength of the older model I had. I love these toothbrushes and have been using them since the 90’s. They are way better than any other on the market like the oral B. They clean the teeth better and keep the gums healthier. .

Zero Stars. Sadly, Rotadent products have become garbage.
I don’t write reviews often, and I have to be extremely impressed or incredibly underwhelmed to do so. If I had to guess, I’d say I’ve been using Rotadent toothbrushes for over 15 years. My dentist swore by them, and he was absolutely correct. I remember the original ones being expensive, but they were absolutely phenomenal. I also remember the investment being worth it because the product came with a lifetime warranty. That has certainly become a thing of the past. They only offer a one year warranty now, and that’s not going to cut the mustard. The last 3 or 4 toothbrushes I’ve purchased from Denmat (or Oral Pro Care) have been horrible. Whether it’s brand new brush heads that stop spinning due to the slightest pressure, or defective batteries, these products have become no longer trustworthy. My last purchase (purchased directly from the company a while back) stopped holding a charge after a few weeks. I know these units very well! When healthy, they charge for close to a day, and you can use them for a couple of weeks. The blue light stops blinking when the unit is supposedly fully charged, but my last purchase stopped charging after 3 hours, and I was lucky if I got a couple of uses in before needing to charge it again. They graciously sent me a replacement, but charging issues continued on the “new” unit. This brand new one from Amazon (I decided to purchase from Amazon for the first time because it was a PRIME item, and their shipping has been greatly delayed when purchasing directly) I decided to watch like a hawk. I set it up to charge, and also set a timer (counting up) from zero. I was going to monitor how long the unit charged before the blue light stopped blinking. I caught the blue light’s blinking stop around 7ish hours. Even that was alarming to me because I’ve had ones charge for almost a whole day, and that’s when I know they are truly charging. I pulled out my old unit, and decided to do a comparison. Right off the bat, I noticed my old one spinning 2-3 times faster than the new one. And I certainly was not surprised to see the new one, “fully charged”, literally stop spinning completely and die after 60 seconds! 60 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Needless to say, I probably should have stuck with some of the Oral-B options I purchased and returned on Amazon, but my dental health has been so good for so many years, and the Rotadent was the brush that my dentist recommended. I’m not sure where to go from here. To say I’m disappointed is an extreme understatement. I will also add that RotaPoints are products I’ve used for over a decade, and their quality has diminished greatly, too – almost to the point of being unusable because they are not as small as they used to be. It’s very sad. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way because I see countless other reviews from faithful customers who are experiencing the same thing. I hope this company can truly get it together, but they’ve definitely lost, what would have been (could have been, should have been) a life-long customer in me.

    Good when it works
I’ve had this for just under 2 years and it completely stopped working this week. I charged it overnight and it just wouldn’t turn on. I would consider buying another if the warranty was for at least 5 years.

I had a Rotadent years ago and loved it.The reviews suggest it’s hit or miss to get a functioning unit. I decided to give it a shot and received it quickly in excellent condition. Plugged it in for the suggested 24 hrs and it works great. I’m very happy. My teeth feel like I just came from having my teeth cleaned at the dentist again. So much better than anything else I’ve found for home.

I followed all the instructions a couple of days ago, including charging up the charger for 24 hours. When I got home from work I wanted to start using it. It had been well over the 24-hour charging time before the initial use. When I pressed the on/off power button the light switched from “normal mode” to “slow node” and the battery indicator at the bottom. There was and is one major problem, the motor in the brush is dead and won’t turn on. I tried many times with the same result. How can one received a brand new product where the motor doesn’t work from the get-go!!! It’s disappointing and inexcusable!!! The deadline for returning it, I just found it was July 2, 2023. This means I have paid for and am stuck with a Rotadent brush apparatus that is useless!!! I would like to know why the product had not been checked tp make sure it was functional before being put up for sale. I am beyond livid!!! Has anyone else had this experience after purchasing this item? Please advise!
