Our lives have been unfortunately filled with major stresses throughout the last 15 months. Valerian pills are mostly stems and roots. MaryRuth has an impeccable distillation method which I have used in the past, but frankly forgot about as life turned upside down. I was Thrilled for this recommendation as I scrolled medical websites for quick, effective, and safe stress relief. It was like meeting an Old Friend! I was looking for this in a liquid form but alsoOrganic. The taste is good. The first time you take it you will think interesting herbal taste but as you continue every night you will actually enjoy it. My point is donât try it 1 time and say oh no Iâm not goi g to like this.Also, I use less drops then recommended because it works for me!

Smells Horrible — But Totally Works
This stuff smells horrible, no question. But it also works.I’ve suffered severe insomnia my entire adult life. I was taking an anti-depressant that did improve my sleep, but it also raised my heart rate and blood pressure so I had to stop taking it.I use about 20-30 drops of this in a very small amount of water. It actually has a sweet taste, but the smell is horrible. You can hold your breath while you swallow and it’s just a moment of that first deep breath after you swallow where it’s worst. I also take melatonin, so I just pop a strawberry melatnonin gummie right after I take the valerian and it’s totally manageable.This will take a couple of weeks to really work, but I’m sleeping better than when I was taking prescription medication. The quality of my sleep is improved and I wake up less.It does take getting used to, but for me, it’s totally worth it. Given it’s relatively inexpensive, I suggest giving this a try if you really struggle.

I love this product. I have tried different brands of VR and this is by far the one I like most. You get used to the taste after a while but all of the brands taste gross. I do wish they sold a refill bottle so I can feel less wasteful with a new dropper in every bottle.

It might help with sleep and nerves but Mylanta is smells like rotten cheese that was cultivated in someone’s crack.I had the bottle in my bedroom on the desk and kept smelling something awful that was making me gag.The kids came in and said they smelled it too and my husband who can’t smell much was sniffing around trying to find the offensive source. This plagued me for 3 days… I frantically looked behind furniture, in corners and kept asking my sons to smell their feet and go wash their backsides. I took the blankets out of my room because I couldn’t get the stench out of my nose and everything seemed to smell of a rancid bowel juice aroma. Tonight I realized as I was sitting at my desk that the bottle of MR Valerian was an arm’s length away from me and even though the lid has been *ON* tight, that the horrific stench was coming from this closed (new!) bottle. I really can’t describe it.. if you cooked hotdogs and then let the hotdog water sit for a week or two, and then gave some old, backed up sot an enema with the “aged” hotdog water… whatever came out of that borthole next is how this bottle smells.You think I’m maybe exaggerating but I am not. It makes me gag sitting at the desk with the lid on! How is that possible?For my money, even though I love MR products, I’ll find a pill and skip the liquid Valerian.

Didnât work for me, caused loose stomach.
It didnât work for me, the bottle was stinky, but the product itself doesnât taste bad. I tried it different times and didnât really feel any difference, I ordered this for its calming benefits but I didnât feel any effect. I had loose stomach the days after using this product so I had to stop the use of it. I was planning to try one of the other vitamins from this brand but not sure after this experience.

This is so weak. I can tell because proper valerian extract isn’t supposed to be so sweet and have little potency. I can not feel any effect from this product. Waste of money, do not buy if you want effective valerian root.
