Didn’t even meet low expectations
I have pretty full, wavy hair and I’ve had professional keratin treatments before that made my hair TOO straight. I thought maybe an at-home treatment would give me a little control without the extreme. My expectations were pretty low on how much control of frizz etc. I followed the directions and waited the few days with my hair looking kinda gross (the way it does with a keratin treatment in it). After the first washing, my hair was pretty much back to normal. This treatment did NOT give me any kind of relaxing or frizz control.

Permed Hair Experience
I have mixed feelings about this product. I didn’t see many reviews related to permed hair, so I wanted to share my experience. I will get into the details, but most importantly… it helped and was affordable compared to other treatments and a salon procedure.A week before using this product I got my hair permed. (My perm was a hot mess and was extremely damaged because my hair wasn’t healthy enough for a perm to begin with…and the stylist didn’t know what she was doing.) I wasn’t about to buzz all my hair off, but didn’t want to live with dead hair either.After reading reviews, I decided to give it a try. I’ve used the brand name Brazilian Blowouts at the salon once, and liked the results. This product is not as good as that… know that before you buy. You are not going to have some magical $400 value treatment in a $32 bottle. Lower your expectations, and you won’t be too disappointed.I followed the directions, but probably saturated my hair too much… so I barely had enough to cover my thick, long hair at the end. Know that the more product you apply to your hair, the harder it is the straighten it at the last step and your hair won’t feel as silky right away. My hair did not feel silky like some other reviews said. It felt filmy and like it had dried sunscreen in it or something. It smelled good though. My husband kept telling me that I smelled like vanilla pancakes. (little did he know the pancake smell was actually burnt hair from 420 degrees hair iron). Yes, my hair did not like the 420 degree straightening. If I could have gone cooler, I would!After 3 days, I washed my hair with the ION Keratin Smoothing conditioner and shampoo that I bought separately. This kit must be used in conjunction with the Shampoo and Conditioner! My hair was still fried, less curly, and still horrible once I washed it… BUT it was a little bit better. I got my hair cut that same day and the new stylist cut off an inch of my hair all over. She was really smart and knew about perms and keratin treatments. She said that the ION smoothing was a good product and also that it needs to be used with the Shampoo and Conditioner or it won’t do anything. She also said that there is such a thing as over-hydrating your hair and not to use this treatment too often. She recommended that I oil my hair overnight once a week and also use a leave-in conditioner cream that has heat protection after my shower. She said that even if I don’t use heat products, my hair can still suffer from the sun. She recommended that I get a trim every 2 months to eliminate all split ends until all of my damaged hair has grown out. (So, I will be doing that for several years…but it’s better than being bald!).It’s been a week now. After the treatment and haircut, I can now run my fingers through my hair, and I am not as afraid to straighten it every other wash. It is becoming less curly the more I use the shampoo and conditioner and straighten it. I would say that this product is a win. Though, I think next time I will buy something stronger that maybe works towards straightening your hair, more like the Brazilian Blowout. You can’t beat the price, and I am not disappointed by this product. Again, set your expectations low!

Having naturally curly hair and frizzy hair my friend recommended this product to me. My frizz is gone and I’ve been wearing my hair straight for almost 6 months now. this product replaces the $250 blowout you’d get at the salon, it’s a little more work but the results are worth it! Quick shipping too!
