After multiple returns to Sephora, Ulta, Amazon, Skinstore, Dermstore, etc., I finally found the perfect foundation in 2015! This is the first mineral LIQUID foundation! I always hated bare minerals because it was in powder form. With this, it is perfect for my skin! My skin tone is similar to Nicole Kidman, so when purchasing this foundation, think of that! Easy to travel with. Also, it stays on all day!!!! This is by far the Holy Grail Foundation! The best cream mineral foundation on the market!
This is hands down the best long-wearing, mineral foundation with SPF that I have ever used, and I’ve tried just about everything. In my opinion it is so much better than the IT Cosmetics products. The IT product in the color fair is too light for me…their color light just doesn’t match my skintone. The Illuminare in the color Portofino Porcelain is a fantastic neutral, light shade that looks great. IF you are someone who looks good in the IT fair shade, then unfortunately this color won’t work. Granted it is not a really large size; however, you truly do not need a lot of this to get flawless, pretty much full coverage. I put small dots on a section of my face, blend and press it in, and then move on to the next area of my face. I used this years ago, but then got caught up in the hype of IT Cosmetics. I’m so glad I found this again on Amazon! In the past, each tube of this lasted me a good 6 months…like I said, a little goes a long way and provides excellent coverage.

Great product but the green version is better!
I love Illuminare foundations but the other (which comes in a green/teal package) works better. This one is a bit more cakey and hard to spread. That being said it has great clean and non-compodogenic ingredients and is Acne safe!

I love ALL Illuminare Foundations!
Concealing, Matte finish, Dewy Finish, Moisturizing, they are all amazing…. and every color seems to work for me. It is very weird. The color works because I have a Fitzpatrick 3-4 skin that tans easily. Sometimes I need to go darker, sometimes I need to go lighter depending on the season. This thing just goes on my skin easily, it covers everything, doesn’t irritate it or cause pimples, it looks good all day. The Matte finish is really matte and stays matte all day, the dewy finish has a little bit of shine, but not too much. One thing I want to add is that you shouldn’t put the matte-finish one on your skin without properly washing, toning and moisturizing first.

GREAT DURABILITY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH
I thought this foundation would be good, something different that would stay on through humidity and long days. The first time I tried the foundation, I did not blend it correctly and it looked grainy and whiter than other patches of skin. I tried to blend it, but the thick consistency did not allow me to do so. I ended up trying to take it off but it was very hard to get off, especially with a cream cleanser. The Alabaster is way too white for ivory skin and I ended up looking sort of vampirish – if you blend it well enough you can tone that down. It does not cover small spots well – it did not cover redness on my cheek and when I tried to use extra foundation to cover it, I could not blend it over my imperfections. This foundation is very thick and very grainy. Think of putting caulk on your face. It seems to get a little mask-like in consistency. I did not like the small toothpaste tube it came in. I would not be beyond ordering the Portofino color to give it a second chance. I thought maybe it was because the color was all wrong. The reasons I would give it a second chance are because I have no doubts that it would definitely stay on all day, even through humidity. There is no bad smell to the makeup. Blended very carefully it does make the skin look smooth and perfected. Additionally, I partially blame myself for buying a color that I believe is too white. This is not for people who want a sheer, natural coverage. If you are scared of it not coming off or being hard to get off, you would not like this either. Durability and stability are important for me because of the different hot to cold conditions I’m in all day and for sweating. This is very different and takes a certain amount of skill to blend in just right. Not recommended for most, but if you need foundation with staying power, be sure to pick the right color.

The mattifying foundation is also mystifying foundation because it is fantastic! Oh, my goodness, my skin looks flawless and it lasts all day. I love it. It does not accentuate flaws or fine lines…it blends in and makes the skin look velvety and SMOOTH. Wow. I have the Alabaster shade as I am fair/light and I am going to get the Porcelain shade to mix with it when I want more color for summer.

I have oily skin and have only found that this and dermablend give me the coverage I want without making my skin break out. I love the matte finish which seems to hold up better than demanblend so this product is a win!

The best foundation ever. I have a mature oily skin prone to outbreaks, after searching and reading lots of reviews about which cruelty free foundation was best for my skin I decided I would give this one a go. Not disappointed at all, the only problem was where to get it from, mail order only, the British company selling it had sold out. It is a US brand so I was a bit worried about sending for it. Luckily I found it on Amazon and delivery was a quick 7 days. Quicker than some posted in this country. I applied it with the special pad it recommended but you can use fingers, brush etc, its a small tube but you only need a pea size amount so there is no wastage. The colour did seem a bit pale at first but blended into my skin perfectly, and the best thing is it lasted all day with only a slight shiny look towards the end of the day. I definitley will be buying this foundation again.
