AWESOME SCENT.
As soon as this arrived, I put some on the inside of my toilet paper roll. It has been a week or so now and I can still smell it. Alittle goes a long way. Clove scent can overpower so remember, less is more!!

Can essential oils be used to replace antiperspirants? Yes!
I purchased this tea tree oil for a demanding application: I want an essential oil deodorant that can control odor as well as the best antiperspirants. Since tea tree oil has a stellar reputation as an anti-microbial and is considered safe on skin, I thought I’d give it a try.Pre-prep – Shave area then clean with exfoliating washcloth 2x.Trial # 1Straight tea tree oil. Applied about 3-4 drops generously to each of the problematic areas. Intense odor from the tea tree oil faded out after 10 minutes. Does this mean I need more?Conclusion after one very long and sweaty day; NO!After about 10 hours I knew it was bad. Hopefully, not so bad that others noticed but….????!!!!About equivalent to very bad antiperspirant products on the market.Trial #2Straight lavender essential oil (use English lavender or lavendula augustofolia). Applied about 3-4 drops to each area. Fragrance is noticeable for hours.Conclusion after several months of use: OK for light days. Fails during long, sweaty days. Applying more seems to help because the scent is renewed.Trial #32 tablespoons coconut oil (contains antimicrobials)1 teaspoon lavender oil (contains antimicrobials)15 drops tea tree oil (contains antimicrobials)Amusingly, the high concentration of essential oils lowered the melting point of the coconut oil, it became liquid at room temperatures, even at 68 degrees. There was no detectable scent of lavender, the coconut and tea tree just drowned it out. The hypothesis behind this concoction was the mix of antimicrobials would boost performance.Performance as an antiperspirant: Meh. Lags the straight lavender and tea tree but not by much.Apply more before next shower? Yes, helpful.Bonus – coconut oil is really soothing on dry skin. Also, used as a hand lotion, this mixture helped several small nicks and cracks in fingers heal up. Best used at night to avoid the wrath of family members who dislike tea tree oil.I’ve compared performance with antiperspirants because that’s what I use. If I compare it with deodorants that I’ve used all the essential oils perform just as well.Conclusion: all of the oils worked for a limited number of hours (about 4-6 to be safe). You’ll need to carry more with you to reapply. A significant percentage of the population finds straight tea tree oil offensive even though it’s a spicy, warm scent. The ones who are teenagers will tell you straight out. Basically, it’s very strong straight out of the bottle, much more than people are used to in this fragrance-free culture.Overall, the quality of this tea tree oil is very high but tea tree oil’s antimicrobial properties seem overhyped. It doesn’t seem stronger than lavender and the scent is so strong that people object when I use it. I can’t see putting it on for a scrape only to have strangers start backing away tactfully.Update: Ah – ha! It’s a question of quantity! Once I upped the amount of coconut oil to about the size of two lentils per application, the whole thing started working. Yes, you will feel quite greasy this way but the deodorant effect lasts 8-10 hours. Also, it’s the coconut oil that’s doing the job. It doesn’t matter which oil you add as fragrance.

You cannot get the oil to drip out even though there doesnât seem to be any blockage. You have to shake quite hard and most times nothing coming out, or occasionally you get a few drops at once, which is quite wasteful for an expensive oil. Will not buy this brand again.
