Great Product At Great Price
Hello, fellow curly-haired girls! If you are like me, youâve spent the better part of your life searching for just the right products to make your mop manageable. It is a stressful and expensive undertaking, certainly. The problem is that there are so many types of curly hair, and these differences are compounded by the varying environments we live in (tight spirals in North Dakota vs looser waves in Florida).
For years I was told to use expensive salon-grade mousse and stick to sulfate-free shampoo and conditionerâbut the brands recommended to me were either horrifically costly or left my scalp feeling oily even after multiple scrubs. In the store one day, I saw these and decided to give them a try as a last-ditch effortâ¦and Iâm so glad I did!
I have fine curly hair that I color, and I live in the MidAtlantic region. I donât smoke and I donât spend a lot of hours in sunlight. Iâve mostly given up on heat styling as well, so your experience may be different than mine. But Garnierâs wallet-friendly sulfate-free offerings have been a godsend for me!
Unlike many of the other sulfate-free curly hair shampoos Iâve tried, this one actually lathers up. My scalp and hair feel clean after use, but not oily or dry. I can actually feel my hair absorb the conditioner (I apply and then leave on while I soap up, shave and wash my face) but it rinses clean and my hair feels smooth when I run my detangling comb through before shutting off the water. About a week after making the switch to this shampoo and conditioner, I noticed a huge difference in my hair. Itâs less frizzy and it curls so nicely now. I do towel-turban only before air drying, and I also follow up with other Fructis products (their leave-in for curly hair, for example).
Recently Iâve had trouble finding these at the store, and switched to Suaveâs new entry to the drugstore sulfate-free category. It doesnât lather as nicely and while my hair still curls ok, itâs not the same. Iâve stocked back up on Garnier thanks to Amazon and Iâm not looking back!
If you have similar hair and environmental humidity, I urge you to try these. Even if they donât work as well for your hair, at least youâre not out a whole lot of money.

This product exceeded my expectations.
This product exceeded my expectations. It left my hair feeling soft and manageable after only one shampoo. My curls were bouncy, moisturized, and my hair smelled clean and fresh. The price was more than affordable and a great value for the money. I will definitely keep this product in rotation.

for $3 you can’t complain much but it’s pretty good
Instead of using this as a moisturizing shampoo, I was more inclined to use this as a sort of clarifying shampoo due to the nature of the ingredients and the drying effect it has on my hair. Good stuff though! Will always love the smell and how fresh my hair & scalp would feel after using it.

I stopped spending tons of money and shampoo
I found this product by accident just looking around on Amazon because my shampoo is so expensive and I canât afford it and this product worked great made my hair feel soft and was very easy to wash. I havenât bought two of them because it was a deal. I highly recommend this product.

Solid makes my hair look more compact and fuller. Would be better if it was cheaper comparative to other brands

I really like the smell after washing my hair. The price is cheaper than the other brand, it is a good deal.
Ellie –
This shampoo cleans my afro hair really well despite being sulfate free, plus it’s not drying at all. Good price as well.
Felicity –
Very hydrating, a bit too much if you have very oily hair. Smells and lathers great.
I did find that I think it may build up over time, so I alternate it with a most clarifying shampoo.

Makes my hair light and gives volume. All these reviews who say it contains sulfates clearly canât read.
