I did a lot of research on the best kind of keratin treatment to do at home and this was the best one I had found after concluding a long research and watching hundreds of videos between tik tok and YouTube. I did get discouraged when I read the reviews here and saw that even a professional did not know what she was doing or how to use the product. I have type 4 hair curly hair and I am African American. I’ve struggled for the longest with frizz, breaking and strengthening my high porosity hair. With high porosity hair, you have to feed your strands more protein than others, you need to moisturize more often than others and you may even find more split ends than others. As I was reading the importance on keratin and what it can do for hair, I realized the problem people are having when they try keratin is that half the time they may not be eligible or a good fit for the treatment. If you are sensitive to protein or you have no issues with breakage/hair fallout, this is NOT a treatment you should do as it WILL harm your hair. For someone like me, with high porosity hair I fit the requirements based on the BENEFITS! It took me maybe 4-5 hours in total to complete the process. I used the entire bottle, barely was enough but I’ll grab 2 next time. The instructions are pretty straight forward and I did everything minus the 3-day usage of flat ironing, I only did a follow up one day and washed my hair after 5 days with a moisturizing shampoo. When I say my hair has never been so fluffy and light and shiny!! My split ends have all just about disappeared; I even went ahead and trimmed my ends anyway but when I examined what was chop, not a single hair had splits.. wash days now take 1.5 hours to finish up (including deep condition and style), I barely use product now? My hair has zero frizz while still having a little bit of texture at the same time. This product does exactly what it says it will do… FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE! If you are looking for a STRAIGHTENING treatment, they have a stronger version.. this particular keratin treatment is only for strength, manageability and frizz control. That’s all I was looking for with my treatment as well as the form free and it’s perfect! I’m a keratin baddie for life now! Lol

Let me start out by saying I hardly ever leave Amazon reviews and bought this with my own money, but I felt I needed to review this one. A little background on my hair story. I am 25 and have always had long hair. And since puberty, hormonal changes, stress and not the best diet, my hair has been frizzy poofy for probably the last 15 years. However, I have always tried to take care of my hair, I rarely use heat or styling tools. I just wear it as is. That is why I really can’t understand why my hair looks so bad.I have tried Vo5, olive oil, coconut oil and every other kind of drugstore hair moisturizing products, with not much luck. Vo5 has probably been the best.I have struggled with tangled, frizzy, poofy, dull looking hair no matter what I do for so long! My hair also will not stay straight, even when I rarely do try to straighten it! Going through all of this through my teens and young adult years has been so discouraging and frustrating. Doesn’t make me feel put together, when my hair always looks like a mess, even right after combing it!I have been debating doing a keratin treatment for probably 5 years, I am always afraid to do anything drastic to my hair, because like I said, I rarely even use heat on it! But, I finally got up the nerve to do this treatment and all I can say is WOW! I wished I had done this a long time ago! My hair is so soft and manageable! For the first time, in I don’t know how long, I can run my fingers through my hair from the roots to the tips!! My ends don’t look dry and crusty anymore. I just trimmed my hair, as well as going through it and thinning out dead hair with thinning shears probably two weeks before doing this treatment, but even with trims, my ends always looks dry and dull. But, now my head of hair all over finally feels like it is holding moisture and conditioner, and is finally shiny, and not poofy or messy!The only con I have, my hair did not turn out as straight as I would have liked. It still has a lot of my natural wave in it. But, in a way, I am glad I retained my natural texture.Also, first time straightening my hair after doing treatment, it is still not straightening pin straight. HOWEVER, I only have one of those simply straight, as seen on tv, straightening heated brushes. SO, maybe that brush is just not enough to straighten my hair. Like I said above, I rarely put heat on my hair, I decided on a whim a few years ago to try one of the simply straight brushes, as it seemed less scary than putting a flat iron on my hair. I didn’t want to spend money on buying a flat iron for this treatment, just to set the product in, as I figured I would not use a flat iron that much. Maybe if I had used a real flat iron to set the product in, maybe my hair would have turned out straighter, or maybe it’s just how my hair reacted to the treatment? Maybe I need to do multiple treatments before my hair will get straighter?ProsMy hair is far less frizzy and poofy. And is much softer and more manageable. I can run my fingers through my hair again!!!Also seems like my hair is far more resistant to humidity, as I did the treatment at the end of June, on a hot day!ConFirst impression after doing the treatment and my hair dried, my hair still retained a lot of its natural waviness.Doesn’t seem like this treatment straightened my hair much.Also, even with using a straightener, still did not make it pin straight. However, like I said above, maybe its because I am using the simply straight heated brush and not a real flat iron. And also, maybe it is just due to the condition of my hair, as to why it didn’t turn out straighter.I am giving it a 4 star, because my hair did not straighten much. However, like I said above, it may not be the products fault, maybe it is just due to the prior condition of my hair or because I did not use a real flat iron.Overall, I am happy with the results so far. It is life changing for me, to finally get rid of the annoying, unconfortable frizzy, poofy mess that was my hair before this treatment!!I will try and update after more time passes, and post how long the keratin treatment lasts for me.
