Bare Republic Mineral Matte Sunscreen SPF 30 Sunblock Face Lotion, Sheer and Light Finish, 1.7 Fl Oz

My Ride-or-Die Sunscreen
To give context for my review, I am a 40yo F with EXTREMELY sensitive, combination skin and rosacea. I have been stuck with the conundrum that I need to wear sunscreen to prevent worsening my rosacea (not to mention the standard anti-aging and cancer prevention benefits), but most sunscreens had ingredients that actually worsened my rosacea. I tried soooo many sunscreens that didn’t work for me, including ones that are frequently recommended for sensitive skin.Unlike all those other sunscreens, this one does NOT irritate my skin. It has a light, whippy texture that is just right for my combination skin, easy to spread on my face, and it doesn’t turn my T-zone into an oil slick, and/or turn my cheeks into red flake fests. When you first apply, it does have a slightly greasy feel and white cast, but don’t freak out because that fades quickly and dries down to a soft, matte finish with no white cast (disclaimer: I have a fair skintone). I use it as my daily sunscreen, and I do have to wear a good moisturizer underneath it to keep my cheeks from getting too dry as the day goes on, but people with more oily skin might not need that step. Unlike other sunscreens that turn into a chalky paste that is difficult to wash off at the end of the day, this one washes off easily, which is another benefit for irritable skin that doesn’t endure a lot of scrubbing. I also really put this stuff to the test this summer with two back-to-back vacations at the beach, where I used this sunscreen on my face and reapplied every 2 hours while in the sun, and I did not get a single sunburn, rosacea flare, or breakout (I did also wear a hat as much as possible).I will be using this sunscreen forever as long as Bare Republic keeps making it (please don’t ever discontinue it!).

Great product but needs improvements to packaging
Love this affordable mineral sunscreen for day-to-day use, however I wish they would use MIT’s famous LiquiGlide coating on their bottles to allow product to slide down and minimize waste. I’ve cut open the bottle thinking it’s almost done and I can still get a week’s worth of product out of it.

Love Bare Republic
I love this stuff. I put it over my lotion, and my liquid makeup goes on so smoothly. Great product and goes a long way. Dont use too much or it may appear whitish.

Hypoallergenic sunscreen
I am super allergic to most sunscreen and many lotions. I’ve completely given up on chemical-based sunscreens which give me nasty rashes and have been trying the mineral products, with slightlly more success. Most of them are thick and sticky and leave me with a white coating on my already pale skin. Many don’t work well, leaving splotchy patches of coverage and a weird tan/sunburn pattern after going out in the sun. And some of them even give me nasty rashes (including the SPF 50 version of the Bare Republic sunscreen). This one goes on smoothly and leaves m skin feeling soft and smooth. There’s a little bit of white sheen after application, but that fades. Best of all, no rash. At first, I was a little concerned about it being only SPF 30, but that’s a whole lot better than the SPF 0 I’ve been getting by not using sunscreen at all. It’s pretty expensive, but worth being able to spend some time in the sun without covering up with hot clothing.
