My 17yr old Shorty Jack Russell has all his teeth but terrible gum disease (stage 2). My 9yr old Parson (long-legged/tall) Jack Russell is fine but couldn’t hurt to start taking care now before age gets to her too.Did lots of research to see what the best recourse was. Wasn’t too eager to start pinning down my old man and scrubbing his teeth in protest after never doing it (ever).This was a perfect compromise. It is a fantastic product. Highly recommend all their products (I bought one of each to switch it up for regular daily brushing).Firstly, these smell wonderful! I almost wanted to try one! Secondly, they are large, even though I purchased the ‘small’ size. So don’t be alarmed at the size- they’re meant to be this size in order to do their job! I’d you don’t have a chewed- don’t get these. They are quite solid. My Jacks are chewers! These are supposed to be medium-strength chews- they’re on the higher side of medium. You can cut them up for smaller dogs to chew but don’t make them too small or they won’t do their job (as I stated before). You want them to get all stuck and mush down in their gums ☺️.These are the once a week brush treats. So one of these per week and the others products they have are much smaller for 2x a day. There’s not as many in a bag as there are in their other products because of the 1x a week as well as the size they are. They are a bit more expensive but the product makes up for it by 1x a week feeding (my opinion).My pooches LOVED these! (please see video) I wasn’t sure if they would crumble or not so I gave them to them outside. They munched, chewed and gobbled it up! Once done they tried to eat the grass it was on! (3 days later they’re still going back and pulling at the grass where they ate their chews!)I have to say that it did make my old man more thirsty throughout the day but other than that, his breath has been more tolerable and not quite as horrendous (it is still bad from a ‘normal’ standpoint however).We have a long way to go still until my poor old sod’s gums are on the road to recovery but I believe I’ve found the perfect product to help him get there!Two paws up, tail wags and licks from this dog owner!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Ridiculously big
I ordered the small size for my papillon and havanese puppy and this are HUGE. There is no way this is meant for a small dog. Each piece is 250 calories which is ½ or more of total calories for a small dog. They also took big in size for them to even chew. My havanese is 12lbs and an aggressive chewer and this was too big for him. I will say this, they really liked the smell and taste after I cut the chews into quarters. This is not idea because the filling falls out but I just use it as a separate treat. The value isn’t bad because I actually get 8 treats out of one :PI’ve used the regular brushless toothpaste chews from Ark before and they were of a normal size, this is really not what I expected. I won’t be purchasing these again because they are too big and have too many calories. If they came in an appropriate size I would purchase again because my dogs do like the flavor and enjoy chewing after I cut them apart.

I use this in an effort to keep my dog’s teeth in good shape as he probably will not let me brush them He seems to like the taste and his teeth look good.
