Nice container and great floss
This floss appears to be the same as what Mother Earth uses, which is nice, because it provides refill options. I’m going to leave the same review about the floss here as what I just posted for that purchase, but first, I want to talk about the container. I love that this is a small, lightweight metal container with a lid. That makes it perfect for my purse. I don’t have to worry about glass breaking, about plastic heating up, or about added weight on my shoulders. The floss did come loose at one point, and the end fell down into the container, but it was easy to rethread. So, I definitely consider this container to be the winner among the different types I’ve tried. Now, on to the floss….I have a lot of dental issues. I build up tartar / plaque extremely quickly. I have tight teeth, including two spots with sharp edges that break floss even at the dentist’s office. I have an implant that traps food under it. I have receding gums. I have sensitive teeth, including a front crown that’s historically been painful to floss around. I’ve also had problems recently with stain accumulating between my teeth. So, for obvious reasons, I was hesitant to switch away from the floss I’d used for years, Glide. However, for environmental reasons, I decided to give this zero-waste, plastic-free floss a try. I’m very glad I did.This floss is better in every way. It’s about the same thickness as Glide, but it’s a little less waxy (though it’s definitely not unwaxed). As a result, it does a great job of taking off both the tartar and the stains. It’s comfortable between my tight teeth, even in the sensitive areas (much more so than Glide), and it almost never breaks or frays on the sharp edges where Glide broke literally every time. It cleans better in the looser spaces, too, such as under my implant. I usually had to floss 5-6 times in that area with Glide, and even then it sometimes missed things. With this floss, I only have to clean that area once or twice. On top of all that, it’s gentler on my gums. I really don’t know why, and I was skeptical of that claim when I saw it in other reviews, but somehow it is.As some other reviewers have mentioned, I find myself excited to floss now. I’ve been flossing for many years, but it was always a chore that I needed to complete, despite the mild pain and frustration it caused. Now, it’s a pleasant experience that leaves my mouth feeling cleaner and healthier.On the environmental side, I love that there’s no plastic anywhere in this. I feel good about that every time I look at the pretty container. I keep forgetting that it’s compostable, so I keep tossing it in the trash and then digging it out again, but I’m sure I’ll eventually adjust to that. Overall, this floss is perfect, and I’m now a lifelong convert!

Love the floss and no plastic packaging
I like this stylish, stainless steel, refillable dispenser for the floss. It is minimalistic with a small etch of the sun rising over a mountain. The waxed, charcoal floss I like too. I regularly buy the Glide floss. Other flosses will get stuck between my tight teeth, cut into my gums, or come apart. This floss was perfect. The product description says that this company (Niveus ) somehow supports dental care for lower income earners/families, but I couldn’t find any additional information regarding this. There is also nothing in the description telling me how much length is in each spool of floss. Amazon says the price is $10 and $.10 a foot, so 100 feet. For the refills, you get two spools of floss, making it $5 each for 100ft. That’s quite a bit more than the glide floss comparatively, but without the plastic waste. Add that to helping people attain dental health and I’d say ok. However, I’d like more information about this program and can’t find any.
