Don’t be afraid to go out and have fun, but just make sure you have protection from the sun! Hey, Don’t Forget the Sunscreen helps parents to gently instruct children on the grave dangers of unprotected sun exposure while stressing the importance of vitamin D. Author Kim Kennedy encourages families to take sun exposure seriously in order to avoid the consequences that so many have tragically suffered. She hopes that providing children with the knowledge needed for ultraviolet ray protection will better equip future generations of parents and children to be more proactive and prepared. Teach your children to effectively incorporate vitamin D into their diets, dress appropriately for sun exposure, and take other preventative measures to preserve the health of their skin. Hey, Don’t Forget the Sunscreen would serve as a great edition to any family’s home or an elementary school’s library.

This Book Is Not Only For Kids ~ Adults Can Learn A Lesson Too!
What a cute way to get through to people to Not Forget The Sunscreen. This book Hey, Don’t Forget The Sunscreen is as much needed lesson for me as it will be for my Grandchildren. A few weeks ago, I was outside without the protection of sunscreen.. What a mistake. I got burned so bad that it hurt for days. Now, weeks later, I can’t let my arms get in the sun or I break out in a rash. Probably sun poisoning. When I read this book, it reminded me that I too need to make sure I always wear sunscreen. Skin cancer is at an all time high. Kimberling Galeti Kennedy does a great job of reminding all of us Not to forget the sunscreen, and she does this in a fun way without preaching. This is a detailed story of what can happen when you get too much sun without any protection of sunscreen. My thanks go out to Kimberling Galeti Kennedy and Word Slinger for sending me this book free in exchange for an unbiased, honest review.

Great information for kids to know
This is a cute, informative children’s book. It’s about a little girl who talks to a friend’s aunt in the grocery store and learns all about skin cancer. I read this to my kids and they all, surprisingly, enjoyed learning about skin cancer. They were full of inquiries once we finished the book, so readers beware of the plethora of questions to follow. It is a wonderful thing to have books like this on the shelves to help children understand important issues like staying safe in the sun without it being overly graphic or scary. The illustrations are wonderful as well and keep their attention with no problem. I especially liked the skin cancer cells and their angry faces. They looked like they were out to destroy. It was an apt drawing for kids to grasp. Thanks Heather for this review.

Invaluable books like this one are priceless.
I love books like these that help parents educate their children about health and safety issues. I learned more than I thought I knew with this one, too! It is about a girl who sees her friends and their aunt at the store. She asks the aunt why she has a bandaid on her face. The aunt explained about ways you can get skin cancer, that there are three kinds and what they are called, and the importance of using sunscreen. The illustrations are vibrantly colored, and help tell the story. I would recommend this to all who are around children. I especially would love to see this read in daycare centers, who take the kids to the park or swimming a lot during warm days. They even play outdoors a lot in their fenced-in play yards, also. These books are invaluable.Thank you Mrs. Kimberling Galeti Kennedy and Word Slinger for giving me an ARC copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest review.

Hey! Don’t Forget The Sunscreen!
Hey! Don’t Forget The Sunscreen! by Kimberling Galeti Kennedy is a wonderfully written story that helps parents address the effects of unprotected sun exposure with their children. It’s Sunday and Stacey is grocery shopping with her family when she sees her friend John. John is shopping with his Aunt Donna. Stacey notices a bandage on Aunt Donna’s nose and asks her about it. Donna proceeds to explain how when she was younger she spent time in the sun and never worried about protection. As a result she has developed skin cancer and had to have the cancer removed from her skin. Aunt Donna also explains the different types of skin cancer and what Stacey and other children can do to stay safe.As a skin cancer survivor, Kimberling Galeti Kenedy has effectively written this story for young children and through easy flowing text and kid friendly illustrations teaches parents and children how to stay safe in the sun while still getting the important nutrients Vitamin D provides for our bodies.I definitely recommend picking up a copy which is perfect for the upcoming summer season when many of us spend hours enjoying the warmth of the summer sun. I am also partial to the main character’s first name!

A Must!
Finally a children’s book that will really educate and protect kids. This book, Hey! Don’t Forget the Sunscreen! talks about the importance of wearing sunscreen and other protective gear like a hat and sunglasses. But the book really goes into detail giving kids a closer look at what skin cancer really is. I hate to admit it, but even I learned a thing or two about skin cancer from reading this book. So if you live in one of the sunny states, like I do, this book is a must for your kids and don’t forget to grab a bottle of sunscreen while you’re at it
