Hello beautiful people! Today I’m sharing my Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette vs Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream: A Comparison Review. I purchased the Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream Freedom Mini Palette in August 2025. I was on a no buy for several months. Then I purchased the Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette in February 2026, making it the first palette purchase of 2026 and what I broke my no buy for. Now that I’ve had ample time to play with both palettes, I feel comfortable comparing and reviewing them.
About my Skintone
I have a very fair neutral cool skintone. My current best complexion product matches include:
The swatch photos were taken inside my home in my living room under my bright living room lights.
Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream Freedom Mini Palette
I purchased the Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream Freedom Mini Palette for $48 USD, but it retails in Europe for €62.50 at Danessa’s EU website. This palette is cruelty free and vegan. Most of Danessa Myrick’s products are vegan.

The Danessa Myricks Lightwork Pastel Dream Mini Freedom Palette is made up of six shades, three of which are silky ultra blendable and buildable mattes, while the other three are shimmer shades. I purchased this palette solely for Galaxy Crush because I saw that color and fell in love! It’s a stunner!
Pastel Dream Palette Swatches on Fair Skin
All swatches are on bare skin with no primer.

Swatched in the following order on the left side: Gilded Dream, Pixie Quartz, and Galaxy Crush. On the right, Moondust, Pink Mirage, and Aqua Dream.
- Gilded Dream – champagne gold sparkle with white gold shift
- Pixie Quartz – pastel fuchsia multichrome with light canary shift
- Galaxy Crush – mint green multichrome sparkle with amethyst smoke
- Moondust – sienna brown matte
- Pink Mirage – orchid pink matte
- Aqua Dream – aquamarine matte
Personally, I find Moondust to pull very warm on my very fair neutral cool skintone. Unless I blend it out with an ivory matte, I really can’t wear the shade. Pink Mirage and Aqua Dream both work beautifully for me though. Galaxy Crush steals the show in the Pastel Dream palette. It’s such a gorgeous multidimensional color. Gilded Dream is beautiful, and if you have blue eyes, this will make them pop. Pixie Quartz is lovely, too.
Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette
I purchased the Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette for €25,95 from their website. Cosmic Brushes is cruelty free and vegan.

I love that the Angelic palette was inspired by the soft glow of the sun reflecting on fluffy clouds. It is twelve soft shades for creating ethereal looks. I purchased this palette because it was super cute, and I loved the color story. It also helps that I really like my two other Cosmic Brushes Palette, the Gothic and Cooltrails.
A Note about the Ingredients
The Cosmic Brushes matte shades are labeled as body pigments for USA customers. This is because the USA FDA has not approved some new ingredients for decades. These ingredients are approved for use in the UK and EU and are safe for use as far as I’m aware. I’ve used them with no issues on my sensitive eyes.
Angelic Swatches on Pale Skin
All swatches on bare skin. Sorry, I still do not have an office space or studio set up in my new home so I’m doing this in my living room.

On the left side from top to bottom we have Halo, Angelic, Illuminate, and Ethereal. I made these swatches extra wide to make it easier to see the two mattes that easily pair with each one. On the right side from top to bottom we have Graceful, Affirmation, Divine, Cherub, Elegant, Everlasting, Blessed and Transcend.
- Halo – A shimmery topper in a peachy orange with yellow gold sparkles
- Graceful – A pastel peachy matte
- Affirmation – A rich orangey brown matte
- Angelic – A sparkly blue/lavender topper shimmer with pink and silver particles
- Divine – A midtone lavender matte
- Cherub – A midtoned dusky pink matte that leans a little purple
- Illuminate – A sparkly pale mint topper shimmer
- Elegant – A turquoise matte
- Everlasting – A deep muted teal blue matte
- Ethereal – A glowy multichrome with an aqua base that shifts to purple, blue and turquoise
- Blessed – A soft pastel cornflower blue matte
- Transcend – A periwinkle matte
The only shade in the Cosmic Brushes Angelic palette that I find challenging to wear is Affirmation. All of the other shades work very well on my pale skin tone. The mattes are my favorite type, very buildable and blendable with good pigmentation. They’re not too stiff with pigment, which can make them more difficult to blend out. All of the shimmery shades are so much fun and you can combine and layer them with each other to create multidimensional looks. If you have hooded eyes, deepset eyes, or you prefer your eyeshadow palettes to contain more mattes than shimmers, this palette is for you.
Cosmic Brushes Angelic Look

For the Cosmic Brushes Angelic palette look I used Graceful, Everlasting, Halo, Illuminate and Elegant.
Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette vs Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream: A Comparison Review
Many of you in the Hex Squad and on Instagram requested that I write this Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette vs Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream: A Comparison Review. I think the Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream palette may not be as easy to obtain in the USA right now, but I do see it as available on Danessa’s EU site. While the Cosmic Brushes palette is easy to purchase via their UK website.
Comparison Swatches of Angelic vs. Pastel Dream

Swatches from top to bottom, left to right:
- Halo – Pixie Quartz
- Cherub – Pink Mirage
- Illuminate – Galaxy Crush
- Elegant – Aqua Dream
- Graceful – Moondust
- Affirmation
- Graceful + Affirmation
While there were no direct 100% dupes, Cherub and Pink Mirage, along with Elegant and Aqua Dream, are very similar mattes. None of the shimmers or multichromes were 100% dupes either. I tried to make a Moondust dupe by mixing Graceful with Affirmation, but it just made a more flattering brown shade for me to wear than Affirmation on its own.
Swatch Video
This video shows swatches of the Cosmic Brushes Angelic palette, the Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream palette, the most similar shades in both palettes, and my Angelic palette look all in motion.
Who is Each Palette For?
The Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream palette is more for luxury indie makeup fans or people already invested in the Danessa freedom palette system. It’s gorgeous, but definitely more pricey than the Cosmic Brushes. Cosmic Brushes Angelic palette is for those who want a mostly cool toned ethereal palette with a few grounding neutrals.
How the Palettes are Similar
Both the Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette and the Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream palette have pastel mattes and ethereal shimmer shades. I find both color stories to be dreamy and mostly cool toned. I love that aqua features prominently in both color stories. You get multichromes and shimmer toppers in both palettes. Both have at least one warm shade to balance the cooler ones.
I’m grateful that both brands are cruelty-free and vegan. They are also both independent brands. And the small size of the Angelic and Pastel Dream palettes make them ideal for travel.
How the Palettes Differ
Danessa Myricks Beauty is a USA based makeup brand by the amazing makeup artist Danessa Myricks. I’ve been lucky enough to meet her at the Makeup Show and New York Fashion Week, as well as take makeup classes from her and interview her. Cosmic Brushes is a UK based beauty brand.
Price Breakdown
Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette is €25.95 for 12 shades. This breaks down to €2.16 per shade. Or if you only want to count eleven wearable shades, €2.36 per shade. It’s an incredibly affordable eyeshadow palette.
Pastel Dream is €62.50 for 6 shades. This breaks down to €10.42 per shade. Or if you only want to count five wearable shades, €12.50 per shade. That means Pastel Dream costs roughly ten times more per pan than Angelic.
Shade Depth Range
Angelic goes from very light pastels all the way to a deep muted teal and a rich orangey brown, giving you more range for a full eye look. Pastel Dream stays in a lighter, more uniformly pastel and luminous throughout. I find that I made monochromatic looks with Pastel Dream, while I feel more encouraged to mix hues with Angelic.
Which Palette do I Recommend?
Cosmic Brushes Angelic Palette is the overall winner for me for several reasons. First, it is the most affordable option by far. Second, it has a very well thought out color story. Third, it has a wonderful formula. Fourth, it’s great for travel. Fifth, it’s a great way to try multichromes, eyeshadow toppers, and high quality mattes.
Danessa Myricks palette has one shade that is really stand out to me that is not easy to dupe, Galaxy Crush. If you are already into the Danessa Myricks freedom palettes and have more of them, you can build your own palette by mixing and matching shadows.
Final Thoughts
As a makeup collector, I have no regrets over purchasing the Danessa Myricks Pastel Dream palette for Galaxy Crush. That said, I would not repurchase the entire palette, only that one shade, if I were looking to rebuy. I’m thrilled with the Cosmic Brushes Angelic palette because of the high quality mattes and how I can make all of the shades work for me, even Affirmation if I blend it with Graceful. While I love both palettes, I highly recommend the Cosmic Brushes Angelic palette if you’re looking for an affordable ethereal pastel palette that runs heavy on the mattes.
