A must-have for your routine if you use products containing silicones or have an oily scalp!
If you have oily hair and an oily scalp and/or especially if you use conditioning products containing silicones or other occlusive ingredients, then this product is for YOU. If you have dry hair and a dry scalp and/or very sensitive skin prone to irritation (although my skin is relatively sensitive, it doesn’t bother me personally) and/or do not use products containing silicones then this shampoo might not be what you are looking for.Review:This shampoo has been very effective at preventing any buildup of oil and product on my very porous hair and oily scalp! It makes my hair feel very clean and soft without stripping it so much that it feels weak and squeaks on my fingers. The scent is a very mild acidic/citrus that I find very pleasant! The shampoo contains Alpha-Hydroxy Acid which is a great gentle chemical exfoliant popular in skincare that will leave your scalp feeling fresh and de-congested. The slightly acidic pH is also beneficial for your skin barrier and hair cuticle as these structures are naturally acidic. I am prone to acne on my scalp and this does a good job of preventing it.Usage Tips:Keep in mind that this shampoo is NOT intended to replace your regular shampoo, as it is still much too harsh to use every wash; only use this shampoo when your hair is feeling congested and heavy or once a week. A little goes a long way! Professional products like this tend to be pricier than drugstore not only because of higher quality ingredients, but they are typically more concentrated and not diluted with as much water; a nickel- to quarter-sized amount is plenty for me. Focus on massaging and working this product primarily into your scalp, as your mids and ends collect less buildup and oil and this will be a bit too harsh for them. Do not worry if the product does not foam aggressively, this means it is working! Rinse and wash gently a second time with a small amount of your regular shampoo before conditioning as normal.

This is an amazing product. It works like how dawn dish soap cleans dishes but for hair. It smells very nice, slightly fruity, and a little goes a long way. This is great for getting rid of oiliness in the scalp and product buildup but shouldnât be used every day. Highly recommend but everyone is different.

edit on 4/13/2023: Use it with a conditioner 100% and if you have dandruff, don’t use this! I changed my routine to using this shampoo now about once or twice a month, because it still does a good job. However, at some point my scalp began to get itchy + produce a lot of dandruff. So, its very drying and not ideal for a dry scalp. Switched back to head & shoulders, although I know Redken has a dandruff option as well.Every time I washed my hair, I’d be oily the next day. This shampoo added an extra day of not having to wash (sometimes more making it so I wash on the 4th day,) which I appreciate a lot. My hair is on the thinner side but it is long. So, I do two rinses. You can feel how well it removes oil build up. Wish it had a conditioner but I read you can pair it with any Redken one so… Not bad. Been using it for a month now.

Wonderful Product to Keep Hair at its Best
I love Redkin products. I have been using them for years. The cleansing shampoo is great to use to clean your hair of any type of residue or chemicals left from styling products. I use it every two weeks (sometimes weekly depending on how much styling products I use). It cleans my hair and has a great lather. Doesnât dry my hair.

Its a good clarifier
It’s a good clarifier it’s pretty strong. I like it I don’t love it. Maybe cuz I’m pouting a little bit because I miss apple pectin hair clarifying shampoo but since they don’t make it anymore this has to suffice it’s more of a cream base than a shampoo. It smells like a citrus wax. Not really a fan of that but again it did its job and it’s fine.

Don’t really know how hair stuff works, but it cleans out my hair and basically primes it for the rest of the week. Scalp buildup is even slower, so I don’t wakeup oily 2 days after shampooing. Small usage works great, since the lather is immaculate. 10/10

Im so glad I bought this. I wash my hair once a week so after day 3 I just wear it up and use leave in conditioner instead of Gel or Hairspray. It works well but my hair gets pretty greasy. This product washes all residue away and then I go in with my shampoo and it makes it lather and cleanse so well. My hair is soft and clean afterward. A must have.

I didnât read the fine print but this really is a tiny bottle for what you pay. I couldnât return the product without paying for the return myself as it was my fault for not reading the size. Just be prepared for a teeny tiny bottle if you order.

This is by far the best shampoo Iâd ever used. Leave your scalp clean, feel light, my dryness had improve a lot, scent is really nice. I used together my usual one from Kerastase however a few times Iâd chose to use only this one. This is the second time buying it, first I used the small one and long like two months, to be honest I do not like that package I accidentally leave it opened, so I loose product, because it does not close properly, so you want to double check before leave the shower. Big bottle is good.
