TLDR Version: My hair is long, thick, and ‘crinkly’. This is my second time using this product and the results are awesome and long-lasting. Use in a WELL ventilated room. You won’t think the product smells bad at first, and it doesn’t. But then it hits you and there is no excape. If it gets really bad, so outside for a few minutes and let your space air out. I used about 3/4 of the shampoo (washed twice), the entire 4 oz bottle of treatment, and the entire bottle of hair mask. If your hair is longer than mine you may want to get two sets. Tip: Do NOT wash your hair for 3 days after the treatment and use a quality Keratin-treatment specialized shampoo when you do. Using regular shampoo immediately after the treatment will cancel all your hard work and you won’t get great results.Long version: If you have hair like mine, you know it’s a struggle to manage. From fly-aways to frizz to always looking like a hot mess, I understand the pain. Flat ironing helps but who has time for all that? I dreamed of being able to “wash and go”. Salon options were out of reach because of cost and time, so I tried this home option without expecting much.I first used this product in March of 2022 and OMG, I had incredible results. The process took FOREVER – from blow drying my freshly washed mop to brushing on the treatment to blow drying it again using the cold setting to flat ironing every strand. My arms were jelly, my nose was runny, my eyes were tearing – but I had beautiful, straight, and flowing hair. The treatment lasted well over 9 months; after that I started to notice more and more frizz returning and my hair started to tangle more. Time to set aside a day to do it again but I did it a little smarter this time around. After washing my hair with the shampoo, which basically strips it down to a rats nest of straw, I let it air dry until it was damp but not completely dry. The first photo is what my hair looked like after the wash. I then parted my hair into 8 sections (which was difficult to do being that my hair was extremely tangled) and using gloves, dumped the treatment into a bowl and used my fingers to spread it through each section, followed by the comb to make sure each strand was covered. So much quicker! The instructions say to use a blow dryer on a cold setting to dry the hair. Um, hello? It took me a good 2 hours to get my hair dry last time. Cold air + long, thick hair = HAHAHAHA, nope. This time around I planned in advance – I let it air dry as I worked (desk job, work from home). This might not be an option for you so plan on spending half the day watching TV or whatever takes up 5-6 hours. For the flat ironing, I did it per usual. I don’t have expensive flat irons; mine are 1″ and 2″ Remmington brands from Walmart that I’ve had forever. They only go up to 430 degrees so that’s what I used, going over each little section multiple times. Your hair will get VERY hot and smoke a little as you flatten your hair into submission. Although the instructions say that there is no wait time before rinsing, I did wait about 15 minutes.I rinsed the treatment out of my hair and applied half the bottle of the hair mask, brushing it through with a comb. Then I applied the rest of the bottle by working it through with my fingers; wrapped my hair in a towel, and rinsed again an hour later. You can rinse it out after 5 minutes but I had a conference call and decided to wait. After rinsing, I towel dried my hair, combed it, and let it air dry again. The second photo is it fully dry – no product, no flat iron, nothing. Exactly how it looked and felt last time I used this product. Now the 3-day timer begins – the instructions don’t say this but it’s best to wait at least 72 hours before getting your hair wet (even sweat) or washing. Don’t use any product or accessories in your hair during this time. If you are a violent sleeper like I am (tossing and turning), it’s OK to flat iron your hair straight again as needed. After 3 days, wash with a shampoo specifically designed for keratin treated hair. It MUST be sulfate and salt-free (more below).Maintenance: There isn’t much to maintaining the treatment other than to use quality products. I use Keratin Complex Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner that I only buy from Ulta (3rd party sellers on Amazon are known to be knockoffs). Yes, it’s expensive at $48 for a 32oz bottle…each. It hurts a little when I buy them. Actually, it hurts A LOT but it’s worth it. I’ve been using them since my last treatment and without a doubt is the reason why it lasted so long. BUT, I picked up a set of Loreal Ever Pure Moisture Shampoo/Conditioner for camping and it’s every bit as good and much more affordable ($17/23oz bottle). I don’t get any kind of kick back from mentioning these two brands, just personal experience. Also, be kind to your treated hair. Keep it natural as much as possible, use sulfate/salt-free products (even dry shampoos, hair spray, etc.). Nothing will strip your hair faster than salt. Limit use of heat stylers. Other than doing this treatment I haven’t used my flat irons in a year. When I have needed to blow dry my hair it takes much less time and I can use the low heat setting.Hopefully this review helps if you are looking for something to try at home.

WHERE was this my whole life?!
I buy no less than 37,284 items from Amazon each year, but this is one of the very few products worth a solid review, and a RAVE review at that. I have had curly hair my entire life and could only bear to “embrace it” for very short spurts that were long and far in between. I’m 35 and still struggled with my hair, but these days with a lot less free time because I work long hours (Helloooo, pandemic!).In the course of my life I have tried chemical relaxers and thermal reconditioning several times with very poor results and caused immense damage to my hair. I’ve made endless attempts to get silky smooth results that don’t revert the second I walk out into humidity or come in contact with a fragment of a single raindrop. Every serum, shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, spray, lotion, and tool (expensive blow dryers, Instyler, Revlon Volumizer, brushes with straightening plates that heat up when you blow dry).. I finally started researching Keratin treatments and wanted to book an appointment before going on a much needed vacation, but cringed at spending over $200 for something that would also likely fail me. Behold, Amazon search! I debated back and forth between a few products and ultimately settled on this Kerazon treatment set based on reviews and the fact that my hair is longer and I needed a set with a large bottle of treatment.. Less than a $70 investment that I can work around my schedule, why not?I washed my hair thoroughly with the clarifying shampoo provided and dried it 60% before I had to pull it back and go run some errands I was juggling that day. When I came back, my hair was pretty much completely dry. I used several pairs of gloves (changed them as needed), and just dipped my hand into a bowl of the treatment to apply and comb through rather than a coloring brush. I was expecting a perm smell, but it was more like a subtle bubblegum-ish (?) scent that burned my eyes like ammonia, so I opted to take a full length mirror out on my deck once I was finished saturating my hair and used my blow dryer on the cool setting to dry it again. I really saturated my hair, and my hair is long, so this took quite a bit of time, definitely over an hour.. But since the treatment is heat activated, the patience you have during this step will pay off (do NOT use warm or hot air). Once I finished drying, I made it a point to work in very small sections starting at the bottom and made 5-7 passes with my flat iron on at least 450 degrees, combing through before and after. This also took a bit of time, but I didnât want to carelessly rush through it and be stuck with inconsistent results. (If possible, get a mini flat iron to get the shorter pieces of hair around your face without burning yourself). After I was finished, I was admittedly nervous to go to the next steps since water is usually an enemy after most treatments. I used lukewarm water to rinse my hair (NO shampoo!) and applied the deep conditioner as instructed, rinsed after five minutes and said a prayer as I gently wrung my hair out with a towel. It felt smoother and looked straighter when wet.. I had accepted that even if it maintained half of its smoothness it would be worth it. I took a blow dryer to my hair on medium heat, and when it was dry: it was perfect. Shiny, smooth, straight. It took me 20 minutes to finish my hair when it normally takes me an hour to dry and flat iron. Iâve washed my hair several times over the past two months (usually 3-4 times max per week) and I keep waiting for it to be frizzy and unmanageable again, but I am so in love. I will 100000% do this every 3-4 months or however often I need to in order to maintain this time-saving miracle.Picture on the left was a super rare occasion that I let it go curly (probably two years prior), picture on the right was a month post-treatment, after ONLY blowing it dry.

BUYER BEWARE
I will be reporting this product to the FDA and Amazon you should either stop carrying it OR surely offer a disclaimer. I would have gone to an emergency room IF I COULD HAVE SEEN TO DRIVE. THE FUMES, the BURNS to my NOSTRILS, EYES and FOAMING at the MOUTH and burning I felt if I BREATHED through my mouth were disastrous, no one should be selling a product like this to a consumer without a HAZARD WARNING!! here’s hoping my hair survives, ALSO the odor remains in your home, etc. I have have had to remove all utensils, hair appliances, and the like from my house, thats not right, I have used all kinds of hair straighteners through the years NEVER, EVER any results like this with this type of response, take it off your website AMAZON. To top all this off, as we know for now, my gray hair is now a dirty yellow, and I paid $70.00 for this??? Give me a break!!! Wish I could upload video but couldn;t figure it out,

Wow
I’ve always suffered from frizzy hair and curls. Which made it hard to wear my hair straight. I just did the process tonight. I flatiron it again tonight as well. I was so please when I washed it out. In the natural state it’s beautiful still curls but looser and more tamed. I was nervous about the process because of the fumes and eye burning everyone complained about. I will say the smell is not bad and I had a fan pointing at me when I went through the flatiron step. My eyes were a bit irritated but not much. I also had the door open in the bathroom. I’m looking forward to see what happens in the weeks to come. I am super pleased with the results so far. Take your time and follow the steps you’ll love the results too. One last thing, once I washed it out. Blow drying and flatironing was so fast and easy! Get it…. I’m African American if that matters!!
