Works for ME!
I got the short end of the stick when it came to dental health genetics. I’m 28 years old & I’ve had THREE root canals in the last 5 years. Believe me, it is not for lack of personal hygiene! I’ve been brushing 3 times per day, flossing twice per day & using Listerine Total Care w/ fluoride (in addition to PerioGuard, a Rx mouthwash) for years! However, I’ve still continuously needed scaling procedures at my (now)quarterly cleanings. I’ve also had antibiotic powders injected into the pockets of my gums that pre-periodontal disease has provided.How did I stumble upon this product? Well, recently I’ve read up on raw vegan diets, & have always appreciated ‘natural’ or ‘holistic’ remedies for different ailments, where I discovered this alternative product! It just never felt right to me that they always wanted to push more pharmaceuticals into my mouth. There are, after all, people living in third world countries that have never even brushed their teeth that have mouths in better condition than mine. I know this product is not completely ‘natural’ & may not be up to the standards of the purest of granolas. Yes, there are some chemical ingredients. In my opinion, this is besides the point because I needed a SOLUTION! I’ve put a lot of hours into caring for my teeth & it wasn’t getting me anywhere. I’ve been thoroughly frustrated that every “new” tube of toothpaste, cleaning gadget, high tech dental floss and Rx mouthwash was one more dead end.Thank goodness I found this toothpaste!! I used it for 1 month before my next cleaning/pre-periodontal maintenance exam. I stopped using my water pik, but continued to floss twice daily. I also began using the fluoride mouthwash only at night (hoping to be able to maintain my teeth & gums like a normal person).Well, my appointment was yesterday, and I’m very happy to announce that IT WORKED!! I didn’t require any scaling, I had MUCH less staining than usual, there were no 5mm pockets, no redness, no bleeding, no need for antibiotic powders, no painful sub-gingival scaling or prescription mouthwashes!! And best of all NO out-of-pocket expenses that my insurance won’t cover! HOORAY!!I brought the tube with me to show the hygienist, she said she’s recommended Tea Tree Oil for patients in the past & saw about 50% with positive results.It’s worth the $$ to see if it will work for you. Give it a shot!

The Best
I love, love, love this toothpaste. I was being plagued by canker sores over and over again and did some research on the internet and learned that sodium laurel sulfate may be the problem. I first tried a locally sold famous brand that did not have the SLS and found it lacking in cleaning ability and did not care for the taste. So on further searching and thanks to all of the other reviewers here, I decided to try this Desert Essence, and took a chance with the fennel flavor since I really do not care for mint toothpaste. Well, I am so happy! It has been a month or more and my teeth are staying so clean I am thrilled- and the BIG plus is no more canker sores! not one. The flavor is the best I have ever had. The price is great also. I have never had my teeth stay so clean. I also bought Nature’s Answer- PerioWash, mouthwash which also has no SLS and it is fantastic with the toothpaste!! I got the Cool Mint flavor and it is a lovely fresh and herbal taste. I should also mention that my breath also stays much fresher for longer with these two. I really am quite surprised at how great this all works.

Great healthy toothpaste
I think I like the Wintergreen flavor better, but my wife and I love this toothpaste! At first it seems a little odd compared to the typical Crest, Colgate, etc., but give it a chance. Once you get used to it, the difference is night and day! I love the fresh feeling my mouth has after using and especially like the smell of my wife’s breath after she brushes with it. I now can’t stand other toothpastes as they seem to have too much artificial flavoring and leave my mouth too dry (not to mention cause more bad breath in the morning). This toothpaste is pretty natural ingredient wise and does a good job of cleaning your teeth. My last several dental visits were perfect so don’t fall for the propaganda that you need ‘tartar control’, or fluoride, or other chemicals in your toothpaste to have good dental health…
