Exactly what I was looking for
I’m kind of at a loss to figure out what all of these negative reviews are about. The direction to put the batteries in this is clearly labeled on the bottom. The brushing power is pretty close (if not exactly) to the built in rechargeable battery version of this and I haven’t noticed any water seepage or corrosion into the battery housing.I love electric toothbrushes but absolutely hate how unsustainable they are. Obviously a bamboo toothbrush is the way to go to be completely rid of plastics but they just don’t clean as well as these. Typical rechargeable toothbrushes eventually die after a 3 year use since the battery capacity gets too low to be a practical choice anymore.This is perfect. If battery dies, I don’t have to landfill the entire thing anymore like I used to with the oral b build in rechargeable ones. I put removable, high capacity rechargeable batteries in it (around 2500 mah) and I only replace them about once every 6 weeks? Hardly an imposition and for brushing twice a day, I consider that good battery life.I’m buying another one to permanently keep in my travel bag. No need to carry a charger, if it happens to die when I’m away, I can easily replace batteries. This is the way to go.

A charcoal brush? Really?
I have owned a number of these brushe instruments over the years. They are great reliable instruments for travel. In the past I noticed one flaw. The cover for the battery case would eventually fail. The case was very difficult to open and close and cracks would appear on the cover that rendered the instrument unusable. With this new instrument they seem to have addressed this issue. The battery case has been redesigned. There is now a much better mechanism for opening the case thus reducing the pressure on the cover and making replacement of the batteries much easier.A charcoal brush? Really? I think that is the only weak point with this instrument. I guess it is charcoal in color. The brush itself is softer than what I am used to. After taking it on a 10 day trip I decided that it needed to be replaced. Of course, there are lots of brushes that will fit this assembly but I didn’t find the charcoal brush an improvement over other brushes.I have a couple of suggestions for potential buyers. First keep the brush assembly clean. Wipe off the part of the instrument where the brush fits in and don’t let toothpaste crust around the moving part or you may find that it could affect performance. Second, periodically open the battery case and clean the rubber gasket. I also remove the batteries when it’s not going to be used for some time, but then I use it only for travel. Keeping the instrument clean will contribute to longevity and good performance.

Broken after a month, just passed the return window
After two other purchases of this brand, I am expecting the same performance from this product. But no, it didnât deliver the power in brushing as the loud vibration noise promised. Then it just stopped working all together in 37 days. It seems like a design or product defect, since the brush and the vibration rod donât fit well. What a shame.

It’s a great toothbrush
I bought one of these for myself and my son previously at Walgreens. We love them, so I bought one on here for my husband. They are great value for the money. The battery lasts a long time, and the toothbrush gives you a good clean feeling. We all three have the “charcoal” one.

Excellent so far 2nd one in 20 yrs
Itâs the only electric toothbrush I have ever owned, the last one just like it lasted 20 plus years probably 25 before conking out, have to see if this one does the same, so far so good, the button is slightly different from the last but Iâm hoping it lasts just as long. Excellent design and handling, this brush has kept my teeth clean (same model) for literally 2 decades with very few tooth problems, and that is without flossing and using it only once a day most of my life.
