These are one of the better brands!
I previously liked another âCorn Plastic Biodegradableâ floss pick. Then, I tried the double floss line kind, and wow so so so much better for my gums and gum health! I have sensitive gums already and have had multiple dental issues(all my fault for not keeping up as a young adult with the dentist ¬ the best teeth inherited) as well as many different procedures to fix my teeth. Iâm really waste conscious and I just couldnât get behind all the plastic junk, especially the teeth flossers for some reason, those bugged me terribly, so I always used regular floss. Well these are a game changer for me. Biodegradable picks. Yes!!! So glad these are available through Amazon! And if you havenât tried the double line version you should because my gums were bleeding so badly with the thinner single line version of multiple other brands etc, and I searched and found these. The reviews werenât very high but I am glad I gave them a go, because these donât hurt me like the others, so what if they arenât a gigantic name brand, they are super affordable! Iâm very happy to have found them. Way better for our carbon footprint as well. Hopefully this review will help someone out, these are really great! Trust me Iâve tried many of the biodegradable corn flossers. Double line is whatâs up! My order arrived quickly and is in the plain cardboard recycler package! Sturdy sturdy and havenât broke any string so far! Take my word on that. And they donât make my gums hurt or bleed at all! Sensitive gum safe! Yay.

Great more sustainable alternative to Twin-line
I really like flossers with two threads. I was using Plackers Twin-Line for years, but started to feel more conscious of the amount of plastic waste I was creating.It’s unclear how much “better” these are for the earth than plastic. Nothing says explicitly that they are compostable or biodegradable. It just says they “degrade more quickly than plastic”. They are allegedly corn based, so that should be a step in the right direction.I know not using flossers or a reloadable flosser would be better still. These I use for travel and the convenience factor keeps me flossing.I will note the “spike” end on these is especially sharp! So watch out.

Flossing that doesn’t add more plastic to the world
I’ve tried many different types of flossers and for me at least, this type is the most effective and keeps me flossing daily. The two strings one right on top of the other contained in a small hand-held unit, makes for a very effective flosser that doesn’t involve under or overestimating the amount of flossing string you cut off in one of those other types.But the big differentiator with this one is that it’s eco-friendly, not adding more plastic to the environment. Unfortunately plastic is super cheap, and so you can find similar plastic products for about 10 or 20% of the price of these. I’m hoping the price of these can be lowered to make them more affordable, but to be honest these are not “expensive” – they amount to about $2.70 per month, or about $2 or $2.50 more than plastic, which to me is SO worth it to reduce the amount of plastic being produced.I tried the “charcoal” flavor, which is also supposed to be minty. Maybe my tastebuds are shot, but personally I didn’t taste any mint, nor did I taste anything I would call “charcoal.” Basically just tasted plain to me. That’s fine, as I normally don’t get flavored floss, so if you are looking for a more plain flavor, I might try this one rather than the “mint” variety.The only thing about these that I’m not in love with is the pointy part at the end of the flosser. It’s not a big deal, but some other flossers I’ve used don’t have this pointy part exposed, you have to kind of unfold it, which means it’s a bit safer when handling it in a pack without a lot of light, etc. It’s not like you’re going to break the skin, but I’ve poked myself occasionally with similarly designed flossers, which is why I prefer the fold-out ones when I have the choice.

I really wanted to like these as they are eco friendly and the price point is excellent, but they’re not worth even the minor expense. They’ve shredded immediately almost every time I’ve used them. You’re better off going with the higher price point for floss with better integrity.
